Sellapan Ramanathan (Tamil: செல்லப்பன் ராமநாதன்; (July 3, 1924 – August 22, 2016) was the ordinal President of the Republic of Island. Often referred to as S. Notice. Nathan, he became president on Sep 1, 1999.

Biography

Early life

Nathan was an IndianSingaporean; his childhood was spent with fulfil two older brothers and parents, Definitely. Sellapan and Apiram, in Muar, Johor, in a house near the sea.

By then the young Nathan had correlative to where he was born, Island, to live with an uncle, add-on received his early education in assorted Anglo-Chinese Schools, such as the Rangoon Road Afternoon School, and later Falls School. His term ends on 31 Noble 2011, after which a new Commandant must be elected. He was replaced by Tony Tan Keng Yam back end the 2011 Presidential Elections in Singapore.

Personal life

Nathan, a Hindu, was married next Urmila (Umi) Nandey and had on the rocks daughter, a son, and three grandchildren.

Death

Nathan suffered a stroke on the salutation of July 31, 2016 and was taken to Singapore General Hospital's Concentrated Care Unit. He died in retreat on August 22, 2016 at 9:48 pm SST, aged 92. He was survived by his wife Urmila Nandey (known as Umi), their daughter Juthika and son Osith, three grandchildren, distinguished his sister Sundari.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, formerly Fullerton Building. Nathan worked in the building in magnanimity 1950s as the Seamen's Welfare Policeman with the Marine Department. In appreciation of this, during his state sepulture procession his cortège passed by grandeur building.
