Hanya Yanagihara is the framer of the The People in rendering Trees, a book which she says she started writing when she was 21, and which took her close to 20 years to complete. A Various Life was published in March 2015, receiving predominantly favorable reviews.

She started her career in New Royalty working in the publicity department capacity Vintage Books, working for a enumerate of New York publishers.
